The whole process worked like clockwork. All project managed with specialist teams arriving at just the right time. The work and finish is impeccable and quite frankly, the best quality service I have ever received. I cannot recommend them highly enough. Well may I compliment Richard and his team for good organisation with little or no noise/talking, they just got about their job so efficiently that I didn’t even know they were on site. With resin/paint mixing and the application in this confined space I resigned myself to problems even though Phillip de Kock held the standard of your company in high regard.
Well surprise, surprise I was most impressed and congratulated Richard and his team on the neatest job I have witnessed a team of workers complete;

We first approached Peninsula Pool Renovations in 2012 to sort out our ageing pool, but were unable to decide on pool heating so put the work off for 3 years. I had no hesitation in returning to Tom when we decided to go ahead with the work as we found he sensible to deal with and had an excellent reputation. Tom and his team tackled the complete makeover of our 20 year old pool efficiently and without fuss and were very happy to work alongside another company who put in some solar heating. They were always on site, kept noise and mess to a minimum and kept us informed of what was happening throughout. I had complete faith in the company and found that the advice given during the planning was excellent. They were responsive to late changes and to the insertion of a new range of pool lights they had not dealt with before. On completion, the house and garden were left clean and tidy. All minor issues once the pool was refilled were resolved quickly and without fuss. We are delighted with the end result that has left us with a much more attractive, efficient and workable pool. I would have no hesitation in recommending the company to anyone. We have no hesitation in recommending Tom Botha and Peninsula Pool Renovations. They are a pleasant, efficient and reliable company to deal with.
The main issue we had with our pool was that it is more than 26 years old and looked very unattractive. The marblelite coating had become rough and there were also some unsightly stains that one could not remove. In some sections the coping was worn and cracked. The old mosaic band around the pool and on the steps looked old fashioned and faded as well. The paving was in a poor condition in certain places. In some areas the surface was not even or flat anymore. We lost interest in the pool and was on the brink to fill the pool with sand. We then decided to have the pool and paving renovated. The pool needed a fibreglass lining and the paving needed to be redone.We knew that it will not cost a few cents because of the size of the pool, a 55000 lt pool. So I went on the internet and looked for people doing renovation of pools but they must be affiliated with the National Spa & Pool Institute (NSPI). I found out of hundreds thee companies, one of which was Peninsula Pool Renovations. I contacted the three companies.The first company’s representative came but I was not impressed with him because he took the measurements down on the back of his business card and when I asked about the paving he said they don’t do paving but he will forward me the name of a company that can do it.The second company’s representative took the measurements more professional and said they do the paving and will include it in the quotation. When we received the quotation it was much more than what we expected and could afford.We waited for Tom Botha from Peninsula Pool Renovations to visit us. Not only was he professional in his assessment of the work requested but also gave additional advice and suggestions to improve, not only the actual pool, but other aspects as well, which we agreed to have done. This was the installation of a salt water chlorinator, complete re-routing and re-plumbing of all the water lines and fittings, new skimmer box unit, installing 2 inlets instead of the one because the water will circulate better and the repositioning of the pool pump and filter system. We wanted a blue fibreglass lining. and a new mosaic band, dolphins. We requested new paving around the pool and three sides between the pool and the walls also needed to be paved.Needless to say that out of the thee quotations we received we accepted Tom’s quotation.We are also satisfied with Tom and his team for doing the work. Although the renovation project was fairly big, we managed to remain within budget and the final outcome has been truly remarkable and successful. The pool looks like a new one and the investment has been well worth it. Everybody that sees the pool now ask if it is a new pool and if it is bigger.We would definitely recommend Peninsula Pool Renovations as a suitable and competent pool renovation company.
I have no hesitation in recommending Peninsula Pool Renovations. After some 20 years, our precast pool was a wreck, chipped lining, cracked skimmer box, broken pool light, loose coping, and losing water. In four days, the team from Peninsula Pool Renovations transformed this wreck into a sparkling showpiece. A subcontractor pumped the water into a 30 000 litre bladder before the team set about preparing the surface for a new fiberglass lining, light blue, topped with a darker blue mosaic surround, and fitting a new blue LED underwater light fitting. The new skimmer box access point is integrated into the body of the pool, rather than the older version, attached to the pool wall via a seal (that perished over the years). The team relaid sagging cobbles and a loose brick coping around the pool. Project planning was spot on, with Tom and Nicholas explaining exactly what was coming next and why. The pool is now looking even better than new. Many thanks to Tom and the whole crew for outstanding work – very much appreciated.
It is without hesitation or reservation that I recommend peninsula pool renovations. I recently had my pool relined in fiberglass and the mosaics replaced. It looks like a brand new pool.
They were very professional, friendly and helpful. (even reminding me to close all windows and bring in any washing because of the dust). They were reliable and have good work ethics and I am very happy with the result.
In February 2024 we contracted with Peninsula Pool Renovations for the re-lining of our marble-plaster pool. Tom came out in person to assess the pool prior to providing an estimate and gave us several itemized options on cost for not only the plaster, but also equipment choices for improving the energy and water efficiency of our pump, etc. We then decided what was best and reviewed our choices with him (he is very hands-on). Shortly thereafter we were informed when the work would begin. His crew was prompt, polite and neat and the entire project moved along at a good pace. After the pool was prepped for the plasterers, they came and within one day plastered and tiled the entire pool. It was amazing to see how his team worked so quickly and efficiently. Also, as far as the pool equipment goes, we ran into some unanticipated bumps but all were handled professionally and the issues were communicated to us clearly with proposed solutions. At the end of the project we received clear instructions regarding maintenance of the pool and equipment. Our overall experience with Peninsula Pool Renovations, from start to finish, showed the utmost in professionalism and industry knowledge. Tom and his team really know their trade and their communication and client management was some of the best we've experienced around Cape Town! We're looking forward to enjoying many more years in our pool and would highly recommend Tom and Peninsula Pool Renovations to anyone in need of their services.

The Management, Trustees and residents of Grosvenor Square extend their heartfelt thanks for the exceptional work carried out on our pool. Peninsula pool renovations has recently completed the reline of our 185000-litre pool, the installation of four new weirs and two new stainless steel emergency water suction points. The pool had some delaminated fiber glass patches and the corners had started to pull away from the copings. New copings were fitted, and the team really went the extra mile to repair paving where it started to sink and levelled it to be inline with the copings around the pool. Tom and his team did a really great job with water storage and work done in under two weeks a planned.
Since day Zero in Cape Town we have had a disaster of a pool which was only good as a breeding ground for leopard toads. The pool was gunite, had poor circulation and the surrounding paving was damaged and sinking all over. We called Tom who not only improved our circulation and converted it to fiberglass but took it to the new millennium by adding features like a water neutral backwash system and a water return solution to help keep our pool running even if we can’t can’t top it up during draught periods. On top of that Tom agreed project manage the entire project for us by coordinating all the other contractors ( the decking and pool cover ) which meant that we had absolutely minimal involvement in the day to day running of the project but the end result is quite spectacular and on time. Thank you Tom and team for doing this all for us. We are thrilled with the end result.
I have had my vinyl lined pool for 28 years and suffered many lining changes during that period. The last period was just one too many times. I called Tom Botha of Peninsula Pool Renovations and learnt that the company had won many awards over the years. I received a detailed quotation which I accepted and it was agreed that work would commence shortly. A few days later the crew arrived on site and started to dismantle of my old swimming pool. A concrete floor was cast and within 7 days, the pool was fibreglass lined and filling commenced. Paving was repaired in this time and the site was cleaned the day after the pool was started up. Peninsula Pool Renovations has recently completed the overhaul of our 110 000 litre gunite pool. The pool was in very bad shape and had become unlevel due to tree roots. Tom and his team built up the sides to ensure that the pool was level, fibre glassed the pool, moved the skimmer box to a more practical position and put in two new pool lights which operate on a timer. New copings were fitted and paving was also laid by the company. The revamped pool looks stunning and it was a pleasure to deal with each and every team member that was on site. Each team, who was responsible for a specific task, knew exactly what they had to do. The site was kept neat and tidy and the job was completed within the timeframe given. We had open lines of communication throughout the process. Tom would contact me to keep me informed if the team was not coming due to bad weather, and I appreciated that. This is the second pool renovation that they have done for us and we would definitely recommend them.

We have a rather huge pool at our house and for many years our kids and their friends enjoyed Themselves after school and on weekends. Unfortunately, I could not say I enjoyed the pool as much because it took a real effort to maintain the pool.Rust stains developed in the pool, I struggled to keep it sparkling and after spending a great deal of money with some of the ”pool specialists” in Cape Town without any success we finally considered filling up the pool with soil and establish a garden.Then in August 2015 a friend referred me to Tom Botha, owner of Peninsula Pool Renovations. As a last resort, I contacted Tom and made an appointment for him to come and advise me on possible solutions. I was immediately impressed with Tom’s knowledge of his field and the problems he pointed out and explained made sense to me and it was obvious that I was at last dealing with a true expert.I then gave Tom the go-ahead to sort out my Pool and less than a month later my pool was fitted with the right pump and filter for the size of the pool with additional return inlets to ensure proper circulation. He also installed a variable speed pump and a heat pump as well as a Robotic pool Cleaner, all supplied by Zodiac, who also impressed me with the professional way in which they conduct their business.I still have dealings with Tom and contact him whenever I need advice, whether it be pool covers or Chlorinators he knows the best.I can now honestly say I enjoy my pool and I don’t spend more than 15 minutes per month on Maintaning it.Thank you once again Tom!

They have proved themselves throughout – from our first enquiry to completion – to be a Company with whom it was a pleasure to do business. Their Company approach was extremely professional, we were informed at every point of the process as to what was taking place, their workmanship is of a very high standard and they always worked to the customer’s requirements and satisfaction and going the ‘extra mile’ wherever they could.
They gave valuable advice wherever it was needed and their suggestions for improvements were happily taken on board by the Trustees of the Complex in securing a significantly improved pool area for everyone to enjoy.
