We had recently bought our dream, but very old house in Sunnybrae in Rondebosch. With this house we had inherited a very large but old and dilapidated pool that the previous owner had tried to paint and which was a total disaster. I was uncertain how to approach this renovation especially after hearing horror stories of costly pool renovations that had ended up as total flops.
I approached Tom from Peninsula Pools through their web site. Peninsula Pool Renovations have been fantastic in all aspects. Tom was punctual from the first on site meeting and his advice has been trustworthy and excellent throughout the entire project.
It has ensured that we have made the correct choices and we have managed to achieve what we wanted in the constraints of a fairly tight budget. Tom has made every effort to work within my budget and I have never had the feeling that any corners were being cut.
We modernised the pool by making changing the shape to a squared off and symmetrical shape that suits the house better. We have created a child (and old person) friendly large top step. The entire pool was re-marble lited and transformed into a really stunning modern pool that was finished off with a beautiful azure blue mosaic band. The old rough coping was replaced with a charcoal Revelstone coping that has beautifully finished off the pool.
Tom convinced us to install a new LED light and we have re-plumbed the filter and pump and we have installed a salt water chlorinator recommended by Tom at a very good price.
The pool is like new and we are very proud of the transformation from an ugly duckling to a beautiful swan and we can't wait for this winter weather to make way for the sun.
This investment has been well worth it and it has been a pleasure dealing with Tom and his team
